Petronela ne-a mărturisit că s-a rugat pentru ca Dumnezeu să-i poarte de grijă pe perioada liceului şi să-I găsească un adăpost ca să nu facă naveta. Răspunsul la rugăciune pentru ea inseamnă: ”Casa Betania” din Haţeg. Am intalnit-o chiar in prima zi in care s-a cazat la ”Betania”. Fericirea şi mulţumirea se puteau citi pe faţa Petronelei. Era deosebit de entuziasmată că a fost primită la Casa ”Betania” din Haţeg. S-a rugat pentru un loc deosebit pe timpul celor patru ani de studiu. Ea a fost cazată chiar din prima zi de şcoală şi nu a mai fost nevoită să facă naveta. Locuind la sat, impreună cu parinţii, Petronela este obişnuită să muncească şi să aprecieze gesturile umanitare care cantăresc foarte mult pentru un om aflat in nevoie. ”Părinţii mei muncesc mult pentru intreţinerea gospodăriei. I-am ajutat şi eu, dar ei şi-au dorit foarte mult să ajung la un liceu. Pentru mine a fost destul de greu şi să termin cele opt clase, fiindcă şcoala era situată la 3 km de satul meu natal. Nu aveam nici un mijloc de transport ca să fac naveta. Zilnic aveam de străbătut cate 6 km. Primăvara şi vara era destul de uşor să mergi pe jos pană la şcoală, dar greutăţile cele mari le aveam de infruntat pe timpul iernii. Chiar dacă era ger, viscol sau ninsoare, trebuia să mergem la şcoală. Nu-mi vine să cred că am făcut acel traseu opt ani. De aceea mi-am dorit să nu mai ajung in situaţia de a face naveta incă patru ani, şi pe o distanţă mult mai mare”. Fiind la inceput de drum, Petronela este decisă să se concentreze asupra invăţăturii şi să se implice in treburile gospodăreşti ale Casei ”Betania”. in timpul liber, şi in special in week-end vrea să slujească in continuare alături de tinerii din Biserica Baptistă şi să inalte imnuri spre slava Mantuitorului. ”Imi place foarte mult muzica şi vreau să cant in continuare pentru Domnul. La noi la sat, biserica este foarte mică şi sunt puţini tineri care fac această slujbă. Eu nu vreau să renunţ, ci vreau să-l slăvesc pe Domnul pentru minunatul mod in care a lucrat şi lucrează in viaţa mea”. 16 years old Petronela confessed that she prayed to God to take care of her during school and to find her a shelter instead of traveling everyday to school to Hateg. The answer to her prayer was ”Bethany” House from Hateg. We met her on her first day to ”Bethany” House. We could see on her face such happiness and gratitude. She was so excited to get to ”Bethany” House. She prayed for a special place during the four years of school. Right from her first day of school she was sheltered in the house and she did not have to travel all the way to the school. Living on the village, together with her parents, Petronela was used to work hard and appreciate the humanitarian gestures for someone in need. ”My parents work hard to keep the house steady. I helped them as I could, but they wanted me to finish and go to high school. It is quite difficult for me to graduate secondary school because the school is at 3 kilometers distance from home. We do not have any transportation, and every day we have to travel 6 kilometers. During spring and summer it is easy to walk to school, but during winter we have to face cold, snow, frog and rain. I can not believe that for eight years we have been walking down to school every day. This is the reason why I wished not to make this route for other four years”. On this beginning Petronela wants to focus on studying and gets involved with house works from ”Bethany” House. In her free time, and especially in week-ends she wants to serve along the youths from Baptist Church and sing songs to her Almighty Savior. ”I like music and I want to sing for my Lord. In the village where I used to live the church was small and quite a few youths do this ministry. I don’t want to give up, but I want to praise my Lord for the way He works in my life”.
